Interview Tips More Job Search Articles

A very common error of being interviewed is that they sometimes tend to get stressed and forget the questions that are given to them, many times having the effect that applicant are not ready for the interview.

It is critically important to research about the firm's interviewer's firm and the applied position to prevent being confused during the interview.

Don't know the answer?

If you don't know the answer to the questions being asked, it is best to own up that you don't know the answer to the asked question and offer that you will find the answer.

Dig for the skills or expertise that the company is searching for so that when interview day arrives and the interviewer asks about your strengths and core competencies, you will be ready to match your ability to what the company wants.

Gathering the essential referrals

Possessing a referral from one of the firm's employees can go a long way toward landing an interview. A typical company may receive job applications in the hundreds and typically 35% to 60% of all job vacancies are filled by referrals. The chances of getting hired when you have a referral are high even if there are another 200 to 500 job applicants looking for the same job level. Even if you don't know anyone from the company that could provide you a referral, it is a excellent idea to go to the alumni network of your university, trade groups, social groups, and professional memberships.

Finally, getting a referral most definitely increases your chances of getting the desired job.
